The Chair will be responsible for guiding the nursing program through an exciting time of growth, expansion, and supporting a new simulation program. The Department seeks an individual with strong leadership and administrative skills who will:
Maintain the Department’s commitment to excellence in the preparation of nursing graduates who are grounded in the liberal arts within a global society; Bring a passion for forward thinking and a visionary perspective that will contribute to expanded program development; Contribute to a collaborative culture within the department, with disciplines across campus and with clinical partners in the community and around the region; Foster the integration of simulation and critical thinking applications into the curriculum.
Requirements
A terminal degree at the doctoral level from an accredited university. Either the Master’s or Doctoral Degree must be in Nursing; An unencumbered, active RN license and eligibility for licensure in MN and ND; Experience to support rank at the Associate or Professor level at the time of hire; A demonstrated leadership record including administrative experience; A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; Knowledge of accreditation requirements; Evidence of successful teaching and knowledge of learning principles for adult education, including nursing curriculum development , administration, and evaluation; A record of engagement in nursing scholarship; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; and Experience developing new programs and working with healthcare partners.
