At Special Care Unit (SCU) we help patients reach their maximum potential with the highest quality of specialized care. Our Units are designed to treat medically complex patients who no longer require an intensive care unit but will benefit from an extended stay in an acute care hospital setting. Over the past two decades, we have perfected a Special multidisciplinary approach to patient care, utilizing a combination of highly trained registered nurses and nursing assistants, aggressive respiratory rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and case management services. Our elite team of specially trained and experienced staff are the secret to our countless patient success stories enabling us to exceed national weaning rates for our patients.
